Nick's Battle Foundation -- Welcome

Welcome to Nick's Battle Foundation, Inc.

Nick's Battle Foundation is named for Nicholas Heuchan. A Dundalk,Maryland boy that was discovered to have the disease at the age of six in June 2003. He is not letting Juvenile Batten Disease slow him down. Nick is your typical boy that wants to let nothing slow him down.  He just wants to be like his friends.  More information on Nick can be found at www.nicksbattle.com.

1.  This organization was formed to help raise the awareness and to help educate the public about Batten Disease throught various means.

2.  We will also be doing fund raising to help find a cure and treatments for Juvenile Batten Disease.  Presently, none exist!!!!

 3.  We will try to assist other families with all types of Batten Disease. This help may come in different ways such as, to help with the purchase of equipment, travel, medicine and other expenses that may not be covered by insurance or medical programs.

The IRS Charity status is 501 (c) 3.

Junior Dragsters Racing against Juvenile Batten Disease

Mason Dixon Dragway 1st time run starts 9:30am

This race is being organized by former Jr Racer Nathan Jacobson. This is being done as his Senior Graduation Project at Middletown High School.

This is a pledge race. This means if a driver gets sponsors for $25.00 or more and brings it that day their entry fee will be waived.

This year we are going to allow car show participants to collect pledges/sponsors. They can turn those in instead of paying an entry. Minimum will be the same as entry fees. This money will be used in awards for most raised!!!

 

 

 

We would like to thank all who attended the 2006 Walk with Nick and Car Show.  We raised over $2000.00 after expenses.

This was donated to the BDSRA at their annual meeting in July 2006 at Nashville, TN.

Thank you to all that attended the race.  WE THANK YOU!!!!  The last figure we had when leaving the track was $4446.82.  This is fantastic. 

Thank you to Nate Jacobson, Elmer, Kathy, and everyone at Mason Dixon Dragway  to make this come off.   Thank you to Elmer and Chris Lill for donating the bonds for the winners.  However all bonds that were to be presented to the winner and runner-up, and round prizes were all donated to Nick's Battle Foundation.  That alone was over $1400.00.  Sometimes "Thank You" is not enough...

 

All monies raised will go to Nick's Battle Foundation for research. No money is allowed to be used for his care. To give money to help with Nick's future care please contact us.

You can make a donation to Juvenile Batten Research by clicking the button below. This money will be used for research.

We are also collecting cell phones, inkjet and laser cartridges to raise money for Nick's Battle Foundation.

All you have to do is box the recycle the items. The cost of shipping is free to you. We even supply the boxes.
